Welcome To the Essex Ambulance Service NHS Trust Website
The Trust serves a population of about 1.6 million residing within the county? 1334 square miles. Right now is an exciting time for us as the providers of pre-hospital care for the people of Essex. Over the past couple of years, we have made remarkable improvements both in our service to patients and in the way we work with our staff, and things are continuing to change.
| We have gone from receiving Zero Stars in the Healthcare Commission Rating in 2002-03 to Three Stars in 2004-05. In fact, the Trust is now the second highest ranking ambulance service in the nation, and we meet all government targets for response times. Our staff, too, benefit from this culture of excellence. In summer 2005, we were the fourth ambulance trust in England to be awarded Improving Working Lives - Practice Plus status, which recognises that Essex Ambulance Service is a great place to work. Essex Ambulance Service recently made its annual declaration to the Healthcare Commission on the Standards for Better Health. We believe we are fully compliant in all areas and expect this to be confirmed when the HCC publishes its rating of the Trust in October 2006. To read our declaration, click here.
